Virginia Cannabis Dispensaries

 

As of August 11, 2025, while Virginia has legalized the personal possession and home cultivation of cannabis for adults 21 and over, the state legislature has not established a framework for a recreational retail market. Therefore, there are no state-licensed recreational dispensaries.

The only legal way to purchase cannabis is through the state’s medical cannabis program. Access is limited to registered patients through a limited number of “pharmaceutical processors” and their dispensing locations. Below is the full list of licensed medical cannabis dispensaries in the state.

Veterans Crisis Line A free, confidential resource available to any Veteran, even if not registered with the VA or enrolled in VA health care. The service connects Veterans in crisis with qualified, caring VA responders 24/7.
